About Crucial Moments
Crucial Moments can be described as points in time where an event or trigger has a significant impact on our life. These moments can impact us in either a positive or negative way. Crucial Moments that have a negative impact on our lives can cause emotional or psychological injury. The brain is overwhelmed by the levels of stress that exceed one’s ability to cope or to integrate the emotions surrounding the experience. In an effort to better understand and relieve his own traumas, author Josey Visnovske began turning his Crucial Moments into stories. The stories begin in his mind and are allowed to spill onto paper, pulling the emotional trauma out. Thereby lessening the damage to his psyche. While working with Dr. Mitchell on research for the effects of death on first responders, they began discussing this collection of stories, realizing the benefit the stories may offer to others who are stuck in a hamster wheel of emotional crisis. The authors endeavored to publish a book of stories side by side with a psychological explanation of why and how Josey’s brain was processing the events in his recollections. Thus providing readers with a virtual road-map through the emotional transformations taking place within their minds. The books are at times heartbreaking, thought provoking, or even amusing. The authors ask that as you read each volume, you take the time to consider moments in your own life, and perhaps reach out to let us know how you may have found parallels in your own life experience.
